Emma Watson has a simple explanation for why she rarely takes photos with fans

The INSIDER Summary:
• Emma Watson doesn’t take pictures with fans when she meets them on the street.
• She says they make it too easy for other people to track her down.
• “Harry Potter” fans tend to be more zealous than other fans.
• She sometimes makes exceptions for kids, and for people on the red carpet.

Emma Watson is one of the most famous women in the world. As the actress behind Hermione Granger in the “Harry Potter” movies and the forthcoming Belle in “Beauty and the Beast,” she has a massive fanbase.
When Watson meets fans on the street or at events, though, she turns down requests for selfies and photos.
“If someone takes a photograph of me and posts it, within two seconds they’ve created a marker of exactly where I am within 10 meters,” Watson told Vanity Fair. “They can see what I’m wearing and who I’m with. I just can’t give that tracking data.”
For some people, there are exceptions: “Children I don’t say no to, for example,” Watson said, because she’d “make someo..

Republicans are hitting more roadblocks on their Obamacare repeal

The biggest emerging obstacle to the Republican plan to change the US healthcare system might be the GOP itself.
Conservative lawmakers are grumbling within their own party over the repeal and replacement of the Affordable Care Act, the law better known as Obamacare.
Arguments over the future of President Barack Obama’s signature healthcare law and a tweak in attitude from the administration of President Donald Trump have shifted the Obamacare changes into a slower gear.
Battle brewing A draft of the House GOP’s plan to repeal and replace the law that was leaked to Politico on Friday has already faced pushback from some conservative lawmakers.
Rep. Mark Meadows, the head of the influential House Freedom Caucus, and Mark Walker, the chairman of the Republican Study Committee, said on Monday that he would vote against the leaked draft of the bill if it were introduced. And some Republican senators are on the fence.
A coalition of conservative members, including Sens. Rand Paul, Ted ..

Watch the US Navy’s biggest helicopter refuel from a plane while carrying a Humvee over the ocean

The CH-53E Sea Stallion is the US military’s largest and most powerful helicopter, capable of carrying a Humvee like handbag.
But even the Stallion’s seven chopping blades can’t scare away US Marine Corps refueling planes.
In the video below, see how the US transports a huge truck, with a huger helicopter, across a huge expanse of sea with the help of a KC-130J refueling plane, which is huge in its own right.

The difference between how officers and the public view police is staggering

The differences between how police officers and the public view their jobs are staggering.
Compared to 60% of the population, less than one third of police officers believe that fatal shootings of African American men by officers indicate a systemic problem, a Pew Research Center study found.
The study, which interviewed more than 8,000 officers about their jobs, also found that 86% of police officers surveyed believe that protests against high-profile officer shootings of African American men like Michael Brown or Walter Scott have made their jobs more difficult.
More than two thirds of officers said that recent protests against police brutality were motivated by “anti-police bias” while only 10% viewed them as “a genuine desire to hold police accountable for their actions.”
“Police say their jobs are harder now as a consequence of recent high-profile fatal incidents involving blacks and police,” the study read.
Almost 75% of officers surveyed said that they were less likely to a..

Warren Buffett’s employees have the chance to win $1 million a year for life — but there’s a huge catch

Employees at Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway have the chance to score some serious cash off the company’s billionaire founder this March.
On Monday, Buffett — a long-time March Madness fan — announced an unprecedented giveaway on CNBC’s “Squawk Box”: Berkshire Hathaway will hand over $1 million a year for life to any employee who correctly guesses the teams in the Sweet 16 of the men’s NCAA basketball tournament this year.
However, that’s much easier said than done, even for the most avid basketball fan. According to Money, there’s a 1 in 1.24X1064 chance of accurately predicting all 16 teams. That’s more than 282 trillion potential variations, Mark Ablowitz, a professor of applied mathematics at the University of Colorado Boulder, told Fortune. Not exactly great odds.
Not everyone will go home empty-handed, though. Whichever employee’s bracket makes it the furthest in the tournament will win $100,000.
“Last year, we had two fellows that tied,” Buffett, who has an estimated for..

Google has an idea for a goofy hat with a camera on the brim that works like Snap’s Spectacles (GOOG, GOOGL)

Google hasn’t been very successful when it comes to “wearables,” but that’s not stopping the company’s engineers from dreaming up creative ways to incorporate computing devices into various accessories.
The latest example: A baseball cap with a video camera mounted on the brim.
Google was granted a patent for the headwear on Tuesday.
According to the patent, Google’s removable hat-mounted camera would be used for capturing photos and videos, which you can upload and stream directly to social media platforms. To do so, the camera would connect to a wearer’s mobile device via an app.

Audio often accompanies video, and Google thought of that by vibrating the sound directly into your skull.
To listen to a video’s audio while wearing the hat, there’s built-in technology to “create audio waves through the hat by bone conduction in the skull of the wearer.” (Google has used similar technology in Google Glass, its earlier effort creating a wearable gadget). In the patent, Google also de..

Barry Jenkins is still trying to wrap his head around what happened (Picture: VALERIE MACON/AFP/Getty Images) Moonlight director Barry Jenkins says his Oscars win hasn’t quite sunk in yet.

It was a big night for Barry on Sunday as Moonlight bagged the Oscar for best film.
But it was marred after hosts Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway mistakenly named La La Land as the winner thanks to an envelope mix up.
In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, Jenkins says he’s still trying to get his head around what happened.
While being elated to win, he described the moment as ‘imperfect’… Read the full story

Diego Costa’s Chelsea future unclear after £38m-a-year offer from China

Costa has been offered a huge amount of money (Picture: AFP/Getty) Diego Costa could still be on his way out of Chelsea despite turning down a move to the Chinese Super League in January, with a fresh £38million-a-year on the table, according to reports.
The Spaniard, who has scored 16 Premier League goals this season, is a target for the free-spending Chinese sides as they look to add top stars to their revolution.

Flu season creates long wait times at Triad emergency rooms

This could very well be the peak of flu season and that means longer wait times in Triad emergency rooms.
Doctors say flu patients are putting a strain on emergency department staff and patients who need to be seen right now.
“The wait time at the ED is very high right now,” said Dr. John Jenkins, the Chief Clinical Officer for Connected Care.
“This time of year is always higher and this year is no different than others,” said Dr. Christopher Ohl, an infectious disease expert with Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
Doctors are urging people with the flu to evaluate their symptoms before heading to the emergency department.
“Everybody’s going to feel lousy,” Jenkins said. “Everybody’s probably going to get a cough, a sore throat or a headache.”
“You’re going to feel totally miserable, but you really don’t need to see a physician unless there are certain dangerous signs or symptoms,” Ohl said.
Those signs include trouble breathing, shortness of breathe, a tight chest or confusion..
